In Greenwich, gas boilers make up 25% of the borough’s CO2 Emissions – heating is one of the trickiest AND most important areas for hitting climate targets.
Meanwhile, renewable heating is underserved by both the commercial market and the community energy sector. Why? It’s complicated and there is a lack of provable test examples.
There are currently fewer than five community energy projects tackling low carbon/renewable heat in London, none of which are in the Royal Borough of Greenwich.
Is that about to change?
