Festival of Retrofit

On 7 June, more than 150 people joined us for the Bell House Festival of Retrofit in partnership with Blue Patch.

We hosted local retrofit experts, stalls and one-to-one sessions with retrofit assessors, helping visitors cut through the jargon and get practical, hands-on advice about making their homes warmer, cheaper to run and more climate-friendly.

Topics covered included energy saving and DIY tips, demystifying retrofit and how we collaborate together to make a healthier built environment for everyone.

Visitors also took part in guided tours of Bell House itself  a Georgian building powered in part by a ground source heat pump as well as a kids’ Card City workshop. Women’s architectural collective Weva Collective ran an all-day drop-in, teaching traditional brick wall repointing and repair skills for anyone of any age or ability to join.

The event was funded by Southwark Council and the National Lottery, and forms part of Selce’s Summer of DIY
