houses on street

SELCE has launched a free, pilot advocacy program to help any private renter in Lewisham who is having problems with disrepair and negative rental relationships with their landlords. We can help with:

  • Raising awareness on the rights and responsibilities of tenants and landlords
  • Information on national housing standards and regulations
  • Home visits to identify and report disrepair
  • Repair advocacy
  • Complaint escalation support, mediation, and legal signposting
  • Support to access grants for home repairs and energy efficiency upgrades
  • Energy advice to help reduce your energy bills and access to other support services from SELCE

We will keep in touch with you via:

  • Our dedicated private renters’ phone line and WhatsApp for inquiries, available during weekdays only.
  • Weekly or fortnightly updates on the case progress via calls or written communication, according to your preference.

This pilot project is being delivered in partnership with our funders Lewisham Council, who are supporting with additional advice and enforcement resources.
