Powering the energy transition in SE London

Selce works with community hubs such as schools, leisure centres, churches and libraries to reduce their energy costs (and their carbon emissions) by installing solar panels on their roofs.

To date, we have installed 510kWp of solar on seven schools, two leisure centers, one church, and one hotel. Buildings that benefit most from community solar….

  • Have large, sunny, unshaded roofs: both pitched and flat roofs can work well but pitched roofs must face either south east or west
  • Be occupied and making use of electricity during the day
  • Be able to channel any savings from reduced energy costs into projects that benefit the community

If you would like us to assess whether your building is suitable for solar energy or you want to find out more about the legal and financial arrangements please email giovanna@selce.org.uk
