Selce aims to deliver fuel poverty alleviation work intelligently. To do this, we continually review the strengths and weaknesses of our work.
Our CEO, Dr Giovanna Speciale, has worked in partnership with Dr Mari Martiskainen from the Centre for Innovation in Energy Demand at the University of Sussex on a piece of research funded by the Chesshire Lehmann Fund to examine our energy advice café model in greater depth.
The research examined good practice for energy advice and it compared the outcomes of Selce’s People Power Café programme with a home visit programme (a more standard method of tackling fuel poverty).
This work has given us valuable insights into developing a service that is better equipped to meet the needs of those who are most at risk from fuel poverty.
