About the ECO Project
SELCE is working partnership with Lewisham Council and Retrofit Works – a co-operative of high quality contractors – to deliver the ECO project. We are working to find households who are most in need of energy efficiency support and provide them with support and funding opportunities.
There’s a huge need for this scheme – 1 in 10 of the households in Lewisham are unable to afford to stay warm and well. Aging heating systems and poorly insulated homes are a large part of the problem. This scheme provides funding to improve the energy efficiency of homes to help residents save money and keep warm.
The role of the ECO Project Volunteer
We are looking for a team of enthusiastic volunteers to help us directly engage with local communities across Lewisham and identify households in most need of energy efficiency measures. The role will involve door to door work to inform residents about the funding and measures that will help them keep warm and save money.
In return we’ll provide you with suitable training and you’ll be supervised and supported throughout the project by our project manager. This is a great opportunity to learn about energy efficiency and fuel poverty whilst developing your community engagement skills.
This role will suit people with a real desire to make the London Borough of Lewisham and greener and fairer place to live.
The opportunity is available for one Tuesday and / or Saturday per month between November and February. We’ll provide travel and lunch expenses.
To apply please send a CV to Laura Wilson email@example.com by 5pm on Tuesday 23rd October alongside a short email explaining why you are interested in the role.
